Courtney cofounded Sinapis in 2010, where she served as Executive Director until the birth of her second child in 2017. Sinapis grew out of Courtney’s Harvard-funded research into the viability of launching an early stage accelerator program in Nairobi. She’s always been a self-starting entrepreneur with a penchant for helping others. By age 14, she built a business selling lambs to Texas farms. Courtney went on to advise Fortune 500 companies as an analyst at McKinsey & Company. She has researched market strategies for Procter & Gamble, consulted nonprofits like American Red Cross and United Way, and helped the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation expand their strategy to South Africa. Courtney’s passion for creating opportunities in emerging economies took root while earning a Master of Public Policy at Harvard, and it has flourished while living in Kenya.
