Sinapis Business Clinic Recap

Sinapis held its first business clinic of the year in early July. A business clinic is an easy way for entrepreneurs to get quick insights into their challenges and to learn what kind of ongoing support they need. These events provide access to professional consulting and coaching services to both individuals and organizations intending to start or grow their business(es). Entrepreneurs attending the event started their day with business needs assessments to understand their business pain points, which lead to an opportunity to get consulting in various business areas most important to them. They were also able to interact with other business owners in thematic focus group discussions held throughout the day.

Over 80 entrepreneurs received personalized business advice from experts in sales and marketing, finance, operations, leadership, tax, law, strategy, and more. 83% of the entrepreneurs who registered to attend the event were in business and a large majority of them were service industry business owners.

We are passionate about supporting entrepreneurs at every step of their business journey. The business clinic’s purpose was to provide ‘first aid’ to businesses in need of help in solving some of their business challenges. Our trainers and staff provided up to 20 minutes of personalized advice to every entrepreneur in attendance. 400,000 Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) shut down annually in Kenya, with almost 90% of them not able to make it past the first year (Source: Kenya Business Guide). We want our business clinics, workshops, and entrepreneurship programs to empower as many businesses as possible to realize their true potential and thrive despite these disheartening statistics.

The event was a beehive of activity as entrepreneurs shared about their businesses in the focus group discussions, got clarity from individual consultation sessions, and networked with fellow entrepreneurs. Three business owners from the Sinapis alumni network also got the opportunity to exhibit their products and services to the attendees.
